It's also very well made - like all Ring devices, attention to detail is exemplary - properly sheathed white outer cable terminates in two pronged connectors, making connection to the Ring device a matter of seconds. Luckily, Ring now sell this, a bespoke power supply for the 2020 Ring devices, including Ring 3, Ring 3 plus and Ring Pro models. Upgraded my doorbell from my old first gen Ring doorbell (poor quality picture, hit and miss connectivity) to a Ring 3 - only to find that the laboriously installed hard-wired power supply (fed through an external wall, internal wall, under carpet to the nearest socket) did not provide power to the new Ring 3 doorbell. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 December 2020 Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 July 2021 Wires are not red/black as per instructional video for fitting to Ring outdoor siren I’ve installed it to test whilst inside but will now need to re-enact at the top of a ladder. If fitting this to the outdoor siren then the rubber grommet is a very tight squeeze and would be very tricky to do whilst up a ladder, the whole operation is fiddly in fact with tiny non-retaining screws and tight terminals for the spades.

In the manual it does mention that for doorbells but makes no mention of the Siren, so I could only go by the video instructions for the device I was installing, which shows positive and negative colour coded wires.Ĭlearer instructions needed but other than that it does what it says on the tin. I was then asked to call Ring and spoke to somebody different who went away to check and came back saying it didn’t matter what way round the wires went. I live chatted Ring support, showing the screenshot from the video with red/black wires and my power supply with white wires.
Now I’m sure many DIY’ers have a multi meter in order to test but I don’t, if I did then I’d probably be capable of hardwiring directly without the need for this plug in power supply at the cost of £20
